University Wellbeing Service
The Wellbeing Service offers a range of services which aim to support you during your time here in order to ensure successful completion of your studies. Our services are available throughout the year and are completely free and confidential. 

NB. If you hear about an incident involving a student who has been seriously injured and/or hospitalised, please do not assume that we know about it. Read this University procedure to find out what you should do.

University Life Matters Service Dealing with life whilst at University can be very difficult. Counselling can offer you an opportunity to discuss any personal issues which are causing you concern. We are a national charity promoting opportunities for young people and adults with any kind of impairment in post-16 education, training and employment.

Samaritans
Samaritans provides confidential non-judgemental emotional support, 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which could lead to suicide.  Whatever you're going through, whether it's big or small, don't bottle it up. Samaritans are there for you if you're worried about something, feel upset or confused, or just want to talk to someone.  They offer their service by telephone, email, letter and face to face in most of their branches.  Samaritans is available to anyone in the UK and Ireland. If you live outside of the UK and Ireland, visit Befrienders to find your nearest helpline.

Students Against Depression
This site offers UK students comprehensive information and discussion about what depressions is and how it works.  It also provides information abouy strategies for tackling depression and where and how to seek further support

Rape Crisis Centre
Tyneside Rape Crisis Centre is an organisation run by women for women which aims to provide information, support and counselling for women aged 16 and over who have been raped or sexually abused

Contraception & Sexual Health Service
Here you will find information about many aspects of contraception and sexual health, together with the opening times of the clinics.  Our clinics offer a free, confidential, one-stop service for women and men. The nurses and doctors are specially trained in contraception and sexual health, and their aim is to deal with everyone in a friendly, non-judgemental and sensitive way.

 

 

University Disability Support
Disability Support is committed to providing a professional, quality service for disabled students so that they may study effectively and make full use of opportunities at Newcastle University.

University Chaplaincy
This is a Christian Chaplaincy, but welcomes people of all faiths and none and is there for both students and staff. They offer support, advice, and Christian teaching to any who want it.
